Matcha: Our Little Morning Ritual
It actually started with curiosity. We kept hearing about matcha everywhere, but between the sweet versions of coffee and the slightly bland powders from the supermarket, we couldn’t quite understand the hype.
Then we tried a real Japanese ceremonial matcha. No sugar, no flavorings—just that intense green powder. The difference was obvious: the energy that builds up gently, without jitters. And that very special taste—herbaceous yet perfectly balanced.
Now, it’s become our little ritual. No complicated ceremony—just a few minutes in the morning with the whisk, that creamy foam that forms, and the first sip that wakes you up without startling you.
That’s it.

What is matcha, and where does it come from?
What is matcha, and where does it come from?
The Matcha is an exceptional Japanese green tea, reduced to ultra-fine powder following an age-old tradition. Made from Camellia sinensis leaves, it comes exclusively from Japan, mainly from the regions of Uji, Nishio and Kagoshima. Our Matcha Cérémonie Hisui is grown using ancestral methods: the tea plants are shade-grown for 3 to 4 weeks before harvest, helping to develop chlorophyll and amino acids. The leaves are then steamed, dried and stone-ground to produce this so distinctive jade powder.

How is our Matcha Ceremonie grown and made?
The ceremonial Matcha culture requires exceptional know-how. Our Japanese producers shade the tea plants with traditional shading cloths, reducing light by 90%. This process boosts the production of L-theanine and chlorophyll, giving matcha its intense green color and unique properties. Only the tender young shoots are hand-harvested in spring. After immediate steaming to stop oxidation, the leaves become the "tencha", which is slowly ground between granite millstones for hours to preserve all the nutrients in this exceptional powder.

Our Pure Matcha Cérémonie brings together all the exceptional benefits of Japanese green tea in its most powerful form. It features a unique concentration of L-theanine, an amino acid that naturally supports calm focus and helps reduce stress. Ultra-rich in catechins and antioxidants (EGCG), it supports metabolism and helps strengthen the body’s natural defenses. This absolute purity provides stable energy without jitters, optimal mental clarity, and detoxifying properties thanks to its high content of natural chlorophyll.
How to perfectly prepare your Ceremony Matcha to bring out all its aromas?
How to perfectly prepare your Ceremony Matcha to bring out all its aromas?
The preparation of traditional Matcha is an age-old ritual that calls for precision and respect. Use water at 70–80°C (never boiling!). Sift 1 bamboo spoon (chashaku) of powder into your matcha bowl (chawan). Pour in 60ml of water and whisk vigorously with a chasen (bamboo whisk) in an “M” motion until you achieve a fine, creamy foam. This ritual fully brings out the intense umami and the rich flavor complexity of pure matcha. For a modern matcha latte, add warm plant-based milk after this traditional preparation.
What’s the difference between Matcha and traditional green tea?
What’s the difference between Matcha and traditional green tea?
Unlike the leaf green tea that you steep and then remove, matcha is consumed in full in the form of powder. This means you benefit from a nutritional concentration up to 10 times higher: you consume the whole leaf. The flavor profile is truly unique: pronounced umami notes, vegetal and slightly bitter, which are what make Japanese tea so authentic. Matcha also contains more caffeine than a classic green tea, but the L-theanine helps smooth out the effects, for a gentle energy and a calm, focused state that’s typical of the Zen philosophy.
Is Pure Matcha suitable for children and pregnant women?
Is Pure Matcha suitable for children and pregnant women?
Matcha naturally contains caffeine (about 70mg for 2g of powder), so it is not recommended for children under 12 and should be consumed in moderation by pregnant and breastfeeding women (no more than one cup per day). Its richness in L-theanine, however, makes it a gentler alternative to coffee for adults who are sensitive to caffeine. This natural caffeine/L-theanine pairing provides balanced energy without the spikes and crashes of traditional coffee.
